What The World Needs More Than Ever, Is Love
Burt Bacharach once sang, “what the world needs now, is love, sweet love”. Never has that felt like more of a reality. With current situations taking place overseas, or even at recent award shows, the world seems like a grim place. On top of that, for the last couple of years it seems like everyday we are exposed to one sad news story after another. The current state of the world can look scary but it’s not too late to begin the healing.
Sometimes despite our best efforts, we can spend days at a time feeling negative. We can quickly drift to a negative state of mind or have something quickly set us off no matter how hard we try. Although it is easier said than done, it is important to remember that life is short. If we spend all of our time worrying about things that are out of our control, we end up in a never ending cycle of negativity that leads nowhere. Now more than ever, people need to channel that energy into something constructive and creative.
Art and music are basic human functions. Humankind and art cannot function without one another. We have the burning desire to create, whatever it may be and however tiny or grand. The interaction with sound is unavoidable, either to make it or take pleasure in it. People have always found music significant in their lives, whether for enjoyment in listening, the emotional response, performing, or creating. At Bongo & B, we entered this industry with that same desire. There is nothing we or any of our acts love more than the energy that performing live creates in a room. Simply said, that feeling is contagious and catches on quick.
A perfect example of this phenomenon can be seen at any concert. When the artist or band plays one of their hits, the entire crowd unites in happiness and joy whether they realize it or not. Have you ever heard a stadium of people all singing along to a song together? It is beautiful to say the least. This is no different from when one of our acts performs at an event, wedding or corporate party. Guests who may have never met before or do not have the opportunity to see each other often can be seen together, mingling on the dance floor, creating memories that will last for years to come.
As spring begins to poke its head out and with summer around the corner, let’s all remember to be kinder to one another. Everyone you meet is going through, or has gone through, some sort of hardship. The last few years were difficult, but the future is looking brighter by the day. We would like to thank all of our clients who have continued to support us over the years and have continued to show us love. We are committed in uniting people with our collective talents and cannot wait for all the fun events we have coming up in the coming months. We know the world is hurting but we are hoping that music, kindness and humanity can be some type of medicine to lead us all in the right direction.
